The singer, 37, is expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, who is co-chairing this year's Met Gala. Before arriving at the May 5 event, Rihanna was spotted sporting a visible baby bump in numerous photos, including one shared on Instagram by her photographer, Miles Diggs.

"Chance of Showers," Diggs captioned a photo, which showed the Grammy winner walking in New York holding an umbrella, with her baby bump visible.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Rihanna.

Rihanna arrived to cheers and camera flashes at 10 p.m., close to an hour after the last attendees went inside the event. Though Mindy Kaling, Angel Reese and Megan Thee Stallion jetted out before her arrival, Rihanna's entrance was not to be missed.

With the Fenty Beauty founder's newly announced baby bump on full display, Rihanna accentuated her curves with a voluminous pinstripe gown and a massive hat on top of her cascading braid.

Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy in a similarly high profile way by showing off a baby bump while performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023. In 2022, she announced her first pregnancy by posing for photographs with Rocky on an outing in New York City.

News of Rihanna's third pregnancy comes after she shared throwback photos in March showing her in the delivery room when she gave birth to the two sons she shares with Rocky. "Yes I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses...don't ask, a lot was happening," she captioned the photos.

Rihanna is expected to make an appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, where other co-chairs include singer-songwriter and fashion designer Pharrell Williams, Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, and British racecar driver Lewis Hamilton − all beacons of Black style, in accordance with the theme: "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."

NBA superstar LeBron James is serving as honorary co-chair, though he is absent from the event itself. James announced on social media Monday that he would sit the gala out, citing the knee injury he suffered when the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoff series last week.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is reprising her presiding co-chair role.

Rihanna previously skipped last year's "Garden of Time" themed Met Gala.

Over the years, the musician, who has a makeup and lingerie empire of her own, has established herself as one to watch at the fashion fundraiser. With daring, often larger-than-life looks, Rihanna's arrival has quickly become a great punctuator of the evening.

She co-chaired the event herself alongside Wintour, Donatella Versace, and Amal Clooney in 2018.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky previously welcomed their second child, a son named Riot, in 2023 after she announced her pregnancy during the Super Bowl halftime show that year.

The Grammy winner took the stage in an outfit that showed off her baby bump. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child together, son RZA Athelston Mayers, in 2022.
