However, Americans are divided on whether these changes have been positive, according to a recent survey of over 900 voters conducted by the New York Times and Siena College Research Institute.

Approximately 54% of participants expressed disapproval of the president's handling of the economy, immigration, foreign trade, and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The survey also revealed that 56% of participants believe Trump has "gone too far" with changes such as enacting tariffs, enhancing immigration enforcement, and reducing the federal workforce.

When asked to describe the second Trump Administration, 66% characterized his term as "chaotic," while 42% found it "exciting" and 59% considered it "scary," according to the poll.

Overall, his approval rating stood at 42%.

Despite confidence in Trump's economic management being a significant factor for many voters in the November election, 76% of participants disapproved of his handling of the economy, as per the survey.

While 45% indicated their personal finances were in good shape, 44% anticipated being negatively impacted by his economic policies.

Approximately 52% disagreed with Trump's suggestion to imprison a U.S. citizen in El Salvador, as reported by the Times/Siena poll.

Furthermore, 47% opposed the administration's decision to reverse diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, and 58% were against withholding federal funding from certain universities, according to the survey.

Even Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual, received a low approval rating while leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Trump.

The Tesla CEO and presidential adviser obtained an approval rating of just 35%, with skeptics evenly distributed across gender, age, racial, and educational demographics, the survey revealed.

Survey conductors queried participants twice about the DOGE cuts, once mentioning Musk's name and once without. Respondents tended to be more supportive of the cuts when Musk's name was omitted, as per the Times.

Trump's 100th day in office falls on Wednesday, April 30.
