The USA TODAY Opinion section is seeking analysis, argument, and essays on a variety of subjects. Submissions should be timely, persuasive, and provide new information or insights. Columns should be 550-750 words and submitted exclusively to forum@usatoday.com. Authors must include links for references and real names of individuals mentioned. We do not accept open letters or material submitted to multiple outlets.
Due to the high volume of submissions, we may not respond to all columns. Submissions may be edited for accuracy, clarity, and length. Authors should provide a short biography and a current photograph with submission. Columns may be published online, with no guarantee of print publication. Authors can repost their columns 48 hours after publication on USA TODAY.
To get a sense of our preferences, check out our op-ed section and follow us on social media. Join the conversation by emailing forum@usatoday.com or using #tellusatoday on Twitter. USA TODAY aims to provide a platform for respectful and thoughtful dialogue in an era of shouting matches and echo chambers.
